Laurie D. Pulliam, our principal attorney, has been a resident of Maryland for more than ten years. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, she is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and Samford University's Cumberland School of Law. When it comes to Social Security Disability Law, Laurie learned everything she needed to know by working for the Social Security Administration prior to entering the private sector as a decision writer for administrative law judges who held hearings to decide whether to award or deny an individual disability benefits. Laurie is a highly experienced attorney admitted to practice having represented clients before Maryland Trial Courts, the U.S. District Court of Maryland, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of Maryland, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of Western Tennessee, and the Social Security Administration's Office of Disability Adjudication and Review.
In keeping with the firm's philosophy of continuing legal education, Laurie is a member of numerous professional associations, including the Civil Justice Network, National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives (NOSSCR), National Association of Disability Representatives (NADR), Bankruptcy Bar Association of Maryland, Maryland State Bar Association, Prince George's County Bar Association, and Anne Arundel County Bar Association. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Sammy, and three young children.
In Laurie's own words:
"I take pride in knowing my clients and their situations extremely well whenever they call me on the telephone or send me a quick email. This is true because in all the years I've practiced law, I have never had any clients with the exact same set of circumstances. When my clients speak with me, I can hear the relief in their voices when they realize I remember who they are and their circumstances which led them to me. My clients are not just a number and I cannot take a one-size-fits-all approach with any of them. This, in my opinion, sets my firm apart from larger firms that are unable to provide a more personal aspect of legal representation. I absolutely love what I do and what I've been able to achieve for my clients. For me, it's always personal."
